Visiting the tent mounted on astronomy Cinelandia, in the past week, I got a "little books" on Asteroids and the Oort Cloud that I found fantastic. I read too fast, so exciting, the booklet on Asteroids, and just wanted to know where to find more stuff like this, excellent quality, clear reading, objective and well illustrated.
Funny how hard it is to find stuff about astronomy here in Brazil. There was formerly a magazine, a Astronomy Brasil, which was published monthly, but unfortunately is no longer produced. I believe that the public buy the magazine was not as astronomical. Pena ... the magazine was very good. I have all that published! :)
But back to the booklets, They are produced by Division of Educational Activities - Daed, a division of National Observatory, that "has been engaged in providing the most updated scientific knowledge in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Geophysics and Time and Frequency, to the Brazilian public, aiming to popularize science and service competence of this Research Unit of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT)”.
Some of these "little books" are available on the website of Daed (www.on.br / site_daed), option "magazines", and can be downloaded free. The available there are:
- Stars
- Galaxies
- Great Discoveries
- Space Mission - Oort Cloud
- Planets
- Solar System
*Unfortunately not available (still) the booklet on Asteroids, but it came in contact with the head of Daed asking to put on this site also. He promised that he would put.
Good stuff so have to be disclosed. Here is my tip for those who want to start this trip that promise to be very exciting.
Like a good old always says astronomer (I am not old), Dark Sky for all!
