After reading The Battle of Revelation I was sure that Eduardo Spohr would have very grating to continue creating amazing stories and keep your audience faithful who worshiped meet Spohrverso *.
Children of Eden is a trilogy that tells the story of angels who live on the earth during the period covered in The Battle of Revelation, in other words, the beginning to the end of time.
It may seem strange, but this trilogy takes place in the same period of the Battle of Revelation, however, with a focus on other characters more “human”. While in Battle an archangel could destroy the world with a bang, in Children of Eden, Angels on Earth use weapons, extinguishers and other objects of the physical world to fight his opponents. This is certainly a very clever solution script to try to balance the powers between the angelic characters and we humans.
What it is about Angels of Death
Despite having lifted the leaves of a war between humans and angels in the previous paragraph, is not exactly what happens in this book.
Angels of Death is the second volume of the trilogy Children of Eden, launched in 2013 Verus by the publisher and is undoubtedly MUCH better than Heirs of Atlantis. I say this because I thought Heirs of Atlantis a book of little girl (perhaps because the main character, Kaira, be a woman in existential crisis, lost in a strange city, living a life that is not hers), but this second book does not. This book is man!
Shot, blood, war, fight, fight, Sister, lama, terror! As well summarized Eduardo Spohr in the introduction, Angels of Death is “gunpowder, napalm, sangue e lágrimas“! Not venture to say, I confirm: Angels of Death is the second best book Eduardo Spohr wrote today! First, of course, Battle remains…
For those who've read the first volume of this trilogy know Denyel “sacrifices” Kaira and to save his comrades in battle in Atlantis, but who have not yet started reading Angels of Death will be amazed with the details of the life of this character and how much he has spent in the physical world.
Despite much loved Battle (I know it's annoying, but I have to make the appropriate referrals when necessary), not much like when a book is filled with flashbacks, in other words, when we are in a timeline of the history and, a turning of the page, came back in the distant past to explain something that will happen in the near future. Honestly I'm very upset with this back and forth, Angels of Death but the author has developed a narrative in which had never been displayed before: dual timeline.
The dual timeline
I loved the way this book was organized. There are two timelines: this line, which tells the saga of Kaira (now more powerful and less little girl), and the last line, which tells the story of Denyel. Simple as that.
This division of past and present is quite different from the concept of flashback, as a character of a timeline is never in the other. This simplifies reading it makes clear to the reader that, when speaking of Denyel, 're talking about the character's life before the beginning of the book Heirs of Atlantis, and, when speaking of Kaira, is going after the end of the first book.
I found this fantastic time division. First the simplification of understanding during reading and, second, the excellent work of character development Denyel, counting all his past and explaining to the reader why he is an exiled angel on Earth.
The Angelic Varieties that do not limit
Cherubs, Serafins, Ofanins and Elohim are some detailed examples of angelic castes by Spohr to define strengths and weaknesses of each angelic being. Funny notice in Angels of Death that caste is something that determines the behavior, however, is not a physical limitation, psychic or magical set at birth Angel. Caste is something in which to be taken as truth and live according to its laws.
There is a passage in the book that it is very clear to me, when it is Denyel, the caste Cherubs, learns a “ability” hitherto exclusive of holy guardians. If a skill can be taught, and his knowledge absorbed by an angel from another caste, then the variety is just something to hinder the development of the breed. This detail seems to be very subtle, but it can surprise us more in the third volume of the trilogy. Who knows!?
There is also the possibility that I am completely wrong and did not understand anything, but it is a risk we run to find that discovering something that no one has discovered! :)
Conclusion
This is certainly a great example of BOOK THAT SHOULD BE READ for all those who like fantasy. Eduardo Spohr surprised me a lot in this second volume with a wonderful story and engaging, but also surprised me by great Portuguese employee.
A well written book always gives me a good envy, they always think: one day I'll have a Portuguese still at this level. Glad I read on Kindle, because it has a digital dictionary that really helped me to expand my vocabulary by reading Spohr.
Again, congratulations to Spohr however this work and that this review encourages you to further complete the third volume, because I know that many, as I, eager to complete this saga.
Liked the review and was eager to begin reading, and then run cheapest buy your copy!
*Spohrverso – universe created by Eduardo Spohr that served as the setting for the first book The Battle of Revelation and also serves to Heirs of Atlantis and Angels of Death.
Ah. So only men can enjoy reading, it is? Just because the author has put into focus the point of view of a female character (Kaira), then the book Heirs of Atlantis- Children of Eden has become too soft for his taste? !
It, only for the next book comes to other more obscure and violent themes for the delicate stomach of a woman being able to enjoy it ? By chance, we women are subhuman and inferior intelligence beings in his view? We are too inferior to know appreciate good books as well as novels water with sugar and youthful romantic comedies?
Out! If you expect, in the XXI century will I tolerate their Neanderthal and sexist comments and remain silent, then, Your mind is more obsolete than I could imagine!
Then, in your opinion, all good books can only be appreciated by men, while we women do not have intelligence enough to know admires them.
For me, the only incapable and inferior are you, that does not even know how to appreciate the genius of Eduardo Spohr in each of his works.
