Many people have heard about this three-letter acronym, but many still do not know what it means. But after all, what is PMP?
PMP certification is a title in the area of project management, granted by PMI (Project Management Institute), ensuring, at least not, that the person holding that title has professional and academic experience in the area of project management.
The acronym means PMP Project Manager Professional, which in Portuguese means Professional Project Management, and is a major title for professionals who wish to work with project management. Other certifications in this area there are also (CAPM, PgMP, PMI-SP, PMI-RMP and PMI-ACP), but the PMP is to consider the main and the first to be obtained by people who desire to work with project management.
Today's job market is already considering the PMP certification as a prerequisite for the positions of Project Managers. Of course, experience counts a lot and, particularly, I consider much more important than a title certification, but some recruiters, and some vague, now favor the title PMP professional experience.
To learn more about this certification, I suggest you to visit PMP®– Professional Project Management do PMI.org. Summarizing, to obtain this certification you will have to dedicate a lot to prepare for the test, besides having to prove a certain experience in.
