Many think I'm a NERD technology which is all the time in front of a computer playing video games. Almost hit, it must be rather a NERD, which is a long time in front of a computer (Work and leisure), but I love to use technology to unite friends.
On any given day, I threw the question for two couples of friends in WhatsApp: “How about a walk?” It did not take even three days and friends were calling friends of friends and, at the end, over 30 people had confirmed their participation in the walk to the summit of Pedra da Gávea, here in Rio de Janeiro.
I was impressed with the amount of people confirmed and have started with a simple question in a group of six friends. The crowd was excited so much that it created an event on Facebook and, later, a group to keep the crowd gathered.
The walk was a success. The 30 people confirmed, 26 appeared on site appointment; a bakery near the trailhead. We started the climb at 7:45 a.m. the day 06/10/2012 and, around 11am, we come to the so-called Carrasqueira, which is right at the top of the mountain. Some of the group stared climbing, a cordless, others with, and these were able to enjoy the most beautiful view of the day, shows that São Conrado and Corcovado Mountain in the distance.
Unfortunately I was not one of those lucky, because it faced the Carrasqueira, but certainly go up that stone at the next opportunity.
Those who rose, down the rope carried by Fernando Correa savior. All back to “support base”, started to walk downhill. That it was almost 14h. We arrived back at the trailhead at 17h in point.
The level of difficulty of this trail is “difficult” and the duration time it is rising 2:30 a.m.. The group included many women and most were doing track for the first time. We stopped a lot along the climb to rest and so linger all day on the promenade, but it was great to be with friends, meet new people, breathe air + pure and have that wonderful look to enjoy.
The final balance of the tour was a lot of sweat, aching legs and some scratches from mild, but the good thing was that no one was hurt. Some got sick, pressure drop may, but recovered quickly.
Thanks to everyone who participated and we will arrange a new adventure! Vlw!
