Let us consider the case of YouTube, a website streaming video company Google. He is a service that is available in the cloud and you can access it from anywhere you have Internet.
YouTube has several servers behind it to process applications for visualization and also store its thousands of videos.
When you access the YouTube website on your iPhone, through a web browser or the official YouTube application, and get to watch a video, you are downloading through your Internet connection, which can be a wireless network, 3G or 4G and is consuming your download quota plan for mobile internet.
The problem is that, if you re-watch the same video the next day, it will be downloaded back to your device, consuming more of your download quota plan.
It would be great if we could save a YouTube video directly on iPhone, but today it is not possible using the official apps.
The purpose of this post is salvarmos a copy of a video hosted on YouTube on your iPhone, but, for this, need three items to complete the process:
- A computer with Internet access, which can be a desktop or a notebook;
- O iTunes, What is management software multimedia library manager, and also on your iPhone, iPod ou iPad.

Stage 2 – Step-by-step to download YouTube videos
After all theory for detailing this process, going to practice. Follow the step-by-step below:
1. YouTube:
Access YouTube and open the video you want to download.
2. Voobys:
In the video URL, replace the word “youtube” by “voobys“.
Attention: Just replace the word “youtube” mantenha and all the rest of the URL. See the example below:

http://www.voobys.com/watch?v = CcM4eEE4R0Q
3. Safety Messages:
Some messages will appear asking your permission to run the video conversion. They are:
About Java(TM) needs your permission to run.
Select any of the options. If you choose the option “Run this time”, when reentering the voobys this message appears. If you no longer want to be alerted about this message, choose “Always run on this site”. I always choose the first option.
Security Warning 1
The application conversion Voobys not have an editor known and, hence, this message is displayed. Can run without fear.
Select the “I accept the risk and want to run this application”. After click “Execute”.
Security Warning 2
Another window again asking for your permission to run the application. You can click the “Allow”.
4- Selecting the video format:
The best resolution is always 1080p, but the final file will also be higher. To view the video on the iPhone, I suggest you to download in MP4 format(480p). If you want to watch on computer or HD TV, choose the MP4 format(720p).
In the video lesson beyond the beginning of the post chose the MP4 version(480p), detail here but the point is that select MP4 format, because I guarantee that this will be executed by the iPhone. The others I have not tested, but certainly have much lower resolution to MP4 format.
By clicking on the link format you want, A window will appear asking where to save the file. Remember this location because it will be important when you import the video into iTunes.
At that point you just download the YouTube video to your computer without installing any programs. If you open the video will get watched it without “spend” Your Internet.
5- Importing to iTunes
I assume you already have iTunes installed on your computer. If you have not, go to iTunes download page and make installing this program.
