You sure know a child or young person who loves touching the phone or tablet and have more ease with the screens and buttons than their parents. Today, children are born “Digital”, but for a prestigious researcher of Institute of Massachusetts Technology (WITH), interaction is the most basic relationship we can have with technology.
“Most of the time, children are just browsing, talking and playing with applications, but they are not projecting, creating or expressing themselves through these technologies. Why just play with video games if you can create your own games?” – asked Michel Resnick, working at the MIT Media Lab.
The need to learn how to write algorithms and programs goes beyond the professional use. Even if they are not computer scientists, Resnick holds that all children should have the opportunity to be “fluents” programming.
“All children learn to write, because it is a useful skill for everyone and in all aspects of life. The program works the same way”, said.
“All the inhabitants of the country should know how to program a computer…because this activity teaches us to think ” – Steve Jobs
Academia do Game
The Academy was founded in the Game 2014 with the proposal to teach programming to infantojuvenil public in a fun and fully interactive. By building the knowledge students learn the concepts of programming logic performing different levels of projects.
The Game Academy's mission goes beyond simple training of programmers. Through the use of certain technologies, the programming logic of education for children contributes to the development of creative thinking.
